CONTENT SPECIALIST

The Company

Our client, a national professional organization with a highly engaged member base is seeking a seasoned Content Specialist to join its Communications and Public Relations team. This role is ideal for a strong writer and editor who thrives in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment and wants their work to have real visibility and influence.

You will shape and steward content that reaches tens of thousands of professionals across Canada, playing a critical role in brand reputation, member engagement, and integrated marketing campaigns. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact individual contributor role with significant cross‑functional exposure.

The Job

In this role, you will own and elevate content across multiple channels, acting as both a strategic partner and an execution leader.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, creating, and managing editorial calendars across core content channels, including email marketing
• Developing and overseeing content for flagship print and digital publications, collaborating with external writers and contributors
• Writing, editing, and reviewing content organization‑wide to ensure CP Style, brand consistency, clarity, and audience relevance
• Translating complex, technical subject matter into clear, accessible, and engaging content
• Partnering with PR, marketing, and product teams on integrated campaigns, promotions, and special initiatives
• Leading copy development for multi‑channel campaigns, including paid and outbound lead‑generation initiatives
• Collaborating with designers to develop creative assets and campaign materials
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously, including high‑visibility initiatives tied to major events and campaigns
• Tracking performance, budgets, and key learnings, and reporting on content and campaign effectiveness

What You Bring to the Job

You are a confident content professional with strong editorial judgment and a proven ability to lead content initiatives from concept to execution.

• 5+ years of experience in content development, public relations, marketing, communications, or journalism
• Advanced copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills using Canadian Press (CP) Style
• Experience managing complex content projects, calendars, and cross‑functional stakeholders
• A strong editorial lens with the ability to shape content from diverse contributors and subject‑matter experts
• Comfort working in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments with competing priorities
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
• Experience supporting integrated marketing or PR campaigns (paid or promotional experience is a strong asset)
• Post‑secondary education in Marketing, PR, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Bilingual English/French is considered an asset
