Job summary
Under the authority of the Customer Service Coordinator, the Electronic Service Technician is responsible for repairing and updating devices in the service department.
Description of key responsibilities
- Unpack defective devices
- Locate and repair faults on devices
- Change defective parts
- Enter the data concerning the repairs in the system
- Perform fine welding
- Assist technician outsideof our organisation
- Inspect and test devices
- Check the performance of devices using measuring instruments
- Carry out repair reports
- Report assembly faults
- Assembly of “jigs” for service
- Prepare cost estimates
- Make required changes on devices
- Pack repaired devices for shipment
- Prepare parts orders according to the order forms of the service centers
- Obtain parts from the internal warehouse keeper
- Manage the parts inventory for the service department
Skills
- Have good organizational skills
- Demonstrate rigor and attention to detail
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Good visual acuity
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Passion for hi-fi audio
Requirements
- College diploma in electronics OR DEP in electronic repair
- 5 years experience in electronics, preferably in audio
- Good knowledge of written and spoken French
- Knowledge of written English
- Good skills with computers and database
- Familiar with various electronic measuring instruments, oscilloscope, multimeters and soldering iron
