Role : Quality Engineer – Assembly and Machining
The Quality Engineering position is responsible for working in a team of Machining or Assembly to Define, Root Cause, and Eliminate associated Safety, Quality, and Throughput issues identified by the customer or within the plant.
Scope of Responsibilities :
Safety
Follow and Reinforce all Site Safety Guidelines
Maintain Safe and Professional Work Spaces per Site Workplace Organization Standards
Participate in Safety Observation Tours as needed
Urgently resolve S Safety and Ergonomic Issues
Quality
Liaison between engineering, supplier, and manufacturing to ensure quality and reliability
Champion commodity Voice Of Customer issues
Support Production with Diamonds 1 thru 3 Problem Solving
Perform Diamond 4 through 7 Problem Solving for All VOC Metrics
Participate in the Assembly Plant Change Management Process
Coordinate Repair, Rework and Containment Activities for Identified Spills
Ensure supplier responsible issues are documented in Supplier Practical Problem Solving system, and enforce supplier and QE team compliance for issue resolution
Provide response to all commodity supplier and manufacturing floor issues
Support the PTR Process, documenting Product concerns and providing Pass / Fail feedback.
Support Launch activities for all future programs beginning at the first Manufacturing Build
Ensure Quality Process Audits are conducted
Responsiveness
Assure attendance of commodity issues at respective VOC and Quality Reviews (support as required)
Support IPPM / PPM improvement initiatives
Support timely resolution of supplier and engineering related plant floor Ergonomics and Quality issues
Cost
Drive assigned Warranty Reduction Initiatives
Document and resolve Cost Recovery associated with Supplier Quality issues
Support cost council account champion initiatives
Qualifications
Successful completion of an Engineering Degree
Highly developed oral and written communications skills
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required
Knowledge of manufacturing processes
Managerial Courage
Customer Focus
Strong decision-making ability
Ability to build effective teams
Preferred
4+ years of experience in Propulsion Manufacturing
Quality / Process Engineering Experience
Supplier Quality Experience
Red X Technical Problem Solving certification
Manufacturing Production Floor experience
Dimensional, GD&T, and Part Data Analysis capability
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $76,100.00 to $114,300.00. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
