Network Analyst - 6-Months Contract with Possible Extension

Job Type: Full Time

Location: Onsite for the first 3 months

Reporting to: IT Director

Goway Travel was founded in Toronto in 1970 by Bruce Hodge, a young Australian economist who moved to Canada to follow his dreams. From there, we have established ourselves as a global influence with offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Sydney, and Manila. While the travel industry endured major challenges, our strong foundations allowed Goway to forge ahead. We continually innovated, invested in new technology, and challenged the status quo.

Still owned and operated by Bruce, with the support of his leadership board, our mission has always been to help our clients realize their travel dreams. Today, we are an industry-leading, global travel company with over 600 employees. Our team of experts utilizes cutting-edge technology to tailor-make 4 and 5-star travel experiences in over 100 countries around the world.

If you’re passionate about travel and innovation, we invite you to be a part of our exciting journey!

The Role:

The Network Analyst will focus on ensuring seamless network performance, optimizing cloud integration, and managing the migration of business-critical applications to cloud environments such as Microsoft 365 and AWS/Azure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in evaluating existing network infrastructures, determining design optimization opportunities, and developing migration strategies for both cloud and hybrid environments, with a strong background in analyzing both on-premise and cloud-based networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of existing on-premise and cloud network infrastructures to identify performance bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for optimization.
  • Evaluate and recommend design improvements for both on-premise and cloud networks, focusing on scalability, security, and performance.
  • Perform network assessments to ensure current designs align with business goals and future growth and suggest network restructuring or enhancements.
  • Develop and implement cloud migration strategies for network environments, ensuring seamless transitions from on-premise systems to cloud solutions such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Lead the migration of network services, business applications, and workloads to cloud platforms, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Collaborate with external partners to design hybrid network solutions that integrate on-premise and cloud environments effectively.
  • Design and implement optimization strategies for M365 performance, including the configuration of hybrid Exchange environments and Direct Routing for Teams.
  • Oversee M365 network configurations and troubleshoot network-related issues impacting M365 services, such as Teams, Exchange Online, and SharePoint.
  • Analyze network traffic to ensure optimal performance for M365 cloud applications, ensuring bandwidth allocation, latency minimization, and secure access.
  • Implement cloud security best practices across both on-premise and cloud environments to ensure robust protection of sensitive data.
  • Proactively monitor network performance across cloud and on-premise environments, identifying and resolving issues before they impact business operations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors to ensure network infrastructure aligns with strategic objectives and business needs.
  • Document network analysis, optimization strategies, migration plans, and troubleshooting processes for future reference and training purposes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and IT staff on cloud networking, M365 integration, and network optimization best practices.
  • Lead and assist with network upgrades, optimizations, and cloud migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Network Analyst or in a similar role, with at least 3 years of experience in analyzing and optimizing both on-premise and cloud networks.
  • Expertise in cloud networking (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) and on-premise network environments, including experience designing hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) and experience with network configurations, optimizations, and troubleshooting.
  • Deep understanding of network design principles, including security, performance optimization, and best practices for scaling and integrating cloud and on-premise networks.
  • Proficiency in designing and executing cloud migration strategies, including evaluating existing infrastructures and planning for seamless migration to cloud platforms.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Azure Monitor, Nagios, Wireshark).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to assess network performance and recommend design improvements.
  • Knowledge of network security protocols and technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and cloud-specific security tools.
  • Ability to document network configurations, migration strategies, design optimizations, and troubleshooting steps effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: M365 Certified Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Experience with network automation, scripting, or configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Python).
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN technology and its implementation in cloud and hybrid networks.
  • Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting network traffic related to cloud services like M365, AWS, or Azure.
