What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Capital Markets team, specifically the Alternate Solutions Group, at the heart of our digital transformation. As a Consultant, Application Development, you’ll assemble, implement, and maintain flexible, personalized solutions that enhance client experience across ASG applications. You’ll lead the planning and strategy for technical design, development, and integration of these applications.

How You’ll Succeed

Design and develop complex application programming activities, create technical infrastructure with specific databases, languages, utilities, and testing approaches, and lead cost‑effective innovative solutions.
Develop multi‑year technology roadmaps aligning with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business goals; lead multiple complicated projects involving backend systems, new technology, and application enhancement.
Champion continuous improvement in process efficiency, effectiveness, and development best practices to ensure quality of work; bring a positive influence to the team.
Act as development team lead, run code‑review sessions, and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating, and problem solving.

Who You Are

At least 5 years of experience with Java 21, Spring, SpringBoot, SQL / Oracle, Azure cloud, DevOps, and RESTful services; bonus if you have experience with JSF, Angular, Kafka, or Solace.
