Position Summary
Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Fort Nelson Health Unit.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff. LPN Coordinator is responsible for providing first line supervision to LPN nursing staff and unregulated care staff and providing nursing care to an assigned group of residents/patients/clients according to established policies and procedures and the Standards of Practice for the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). The LPN Coordinator coordinates the work of the LPN and unregulated care staff on the unit(s) including making and adjusting work assignments, providing work direction, scheduling staff, monitoring and following up on the work of staff to ensure outcomes of care are achieved and ongoing evaluation of staff work.

This position is in Fort Nelson and Supervises Unregulated Staff Care Aides, will also be providing care for Immunizations and Community RAI's

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, 08:00 to 20:00 (rotating)

Qualfications
•Graduation from an approved school in Practical Nursing. Two (2) years' recent, related clinical and/or supervisory experience in a community health setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) and provide nursing care through appropriate/ prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the clients, families, the public, medical staff, and the members of the interdisciplinary team using verbal, written and computer communication means.
• Ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to solve problems effectively.
• Ability to promote client-focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant others, sensitive to diverse cultures and preferences, client advocacy and social justice concerns.
• Ability to transmit information intended to instruct clients and others about topics essential to health care and well-being.
• Manages time and resources, implementing activities to promote cooperation among relevant others, collaboration across disciplines and related activities.
• Promotes staff morale, cooperation, assertiveness and risk-taking, creative planning for change and innovations, implementation of NH policies or other protocols, and ongoing professional development of self.
• Using information, prior learning and basic principles and procedures to support decisions and actions with relevant research-based evidence. Integrates best practice from nursing and health-related disciplines and the humanities, arts, and sciences disciplines into professional practice.
• Ability to operate related equipment including relevant computer applications.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
