Manager of Community Programs - Full-Time Permanent

Timmins and Area Women in Crisis (TAWC) is a dynamic, community-based feminist organization, which provides services on intimate partner abuse and sexual violence to women and their children in the Timmins area. TAWC works within an integrated feminist, anti-racist, anti-oppression framework. The agency administers a sexual assault centre, an emergency shelter as well as second stage housing to abused women and their children.

We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated woman to join our team in the capacity of Full-Time Manager of Community Programs . The Manager of Community Programs is responsible to the Executive Director for the overall supervision and coordination of community-based programs and services — including both administrative coordination and clinical supervision of front‑line staff working in areas such as counselling, outreach, family court, and child witness programs.

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Women’s Studies, or related discipline) and / or equivalent experience
• Registration or eligibility for registration with a professional regulatory body (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO, CPO) strongly preferred
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in counselling, trauma‑informed care, or crisis intervention, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity
• Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision or mentorship to staff supporting survivors of gender‑based violence
• Knowledge of, familiarity with and experience working in the area of violence against women and children, preferably in a leadership capacity
• Solid understanding of the social service sector and ability to work / advocate within this system
• Understanding of and commitment to working within an intersectional feminist, anti‑racism, anti‑oppression framework understanding the social, economic and political context of woman abuse
• Ability to represent and promote program areas in a manner consistent with the philosophies of TAWC
• Strong analytical program evaluation, problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, coordinating, training and mentoring skills
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
• Demonstrated experience in crisis management, decision making and intervention
• Ability to promote teamwork and strength in a staff team
• Excellent organizational, time management skills
• Knowledge of administrative skills including internet and computer proficiency (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be flexible in terms of working hours
• Must undergo a criminal records check

Main Responsibilities

TAWC has a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy that requires individuals to take part in COVID-19 vaccination programs recommended by Public Health, unless they are approved for a medical or human rights accommodation from TAWC. Compliance with this policy is mandatory for this position.
