Job Overview

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Cloud Solutions Architect.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Services, this position is responsible for representing the cloud platform services teams to lead architectural and solutioning decisions, with their partners in the enterprise architecture teams, leveraging broad technical expertise across networking, Azure (including landing zones), Kubernetes, on‑prem compute, Hyper‑V clusters, storage solutions, and infrastructure engineering—supported by a technical development background, programming skills (asset), and strong road‑mapping capabilities.

Status : Regular Full Time

Working Conditions : Hybrid

Education Level : 4-Year University education in either Computer Science, Information Systems or IT related field.

Base Location : Oshawa, ON

Shifts(s) : Days

Travel : 10%

Key Accountabilities

• Collaborate closely with cloud platform services teams to support enterprise‑wide architecture initiatives.
• Lead architectural and solutioning decisions, ensuring scalable and secure cloud‑integrated designs.
• Apply broad technical expertise across networking, Azure services, and on‑prem compute environments.
• Utilize deep knowledge of Azure offerings, including Landing Zones and Kubernetes related services.
• Support infrastructure built on Hyper‑V clusters and modern storage solutions.
• Leverage networking experience as an asset to complement cloud architecture responsibilities.
• Draw on a technical development and infrastructure engineering background to guide design decisions.
• Develop and maintain technology roadmaps to align cloud architecture with business and IT strategy.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
