Description

  • Proven supervisory experience in retail management or fitness center operations.
  • Strong background in sales management, customer service, and team leadership.
  • Experience with payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and administrative tasks.
  • Knowledge of merchandising, POS systems, purchasing, and store management practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop training programs and lead staff development initiatives.
  • Multilingual abilities or bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse communities.
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in negotiation, marketing strategies, interviewing techniques, time management, organizational skills, math aptitude, and phone etiquette.   • Bachelor's degree in sports management, business administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a management role within the fitness industry
  • Familiarity with industry software and technology, such as gym management systems and scheduling software

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the fitness center to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff members to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain high performance standards.
  • Manage sales and marketing initiatives to increase membership enrollment and retention.
  • Oversee retail sales, merchandising, and pricing strategies within the facility.
  • Handle administrative tasks including payroll, bookkeeping, budgeting, and store management.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and equipment maintenance to ensure a safe environment.
  • Implement training & development programs for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct interviews and participate in hiring processes for new team members.
  • Utilize POS systems for transactions such as cashiering, sales management, and inventory control.
  • Develop promotional campaigns to boost community engagement and membership participation.
  • Monitor financial performance through budgeting, sales tracking, and cost control measures.
  • Ensure effective communication with team members and members through phone etiquette and organizational skills.
