Data Modeler
to join our Transformation Team. Located in the Irving Building in Dieppe and reporting to the Senior Analytics Lead, this role shapes the trusted data foundation that powers insights and decision‑making across the business. You will design, develop, and document scalable data models; partner closely with cross‑functional teams across the business; and refine models for accuracy, performance, and reusability. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize reusable and standardized data assets across multiple business domains
Partner with data architects, data solutions developers, and business stakeholders to ensure models fit seamlessly into our Data Lakehouse architecture and are aligned to Midland’s data strategy
Document data assets so they can be easily understood, governed, and maintained
Engage in ongoing skill development to sharpen technical depth and keep your toolkit modern
Insight Enablement & Analytics
Transform data into actionable insights by designing and developing Power BI assets
Monitor asset performance and optimize models and visuals to improve reliability and usage
Maintain documentation for models, reports, and insights and set role‑based access to ensure secure consumption
Community, Coaching, and Standards
Coach and mentor analysts and data consumers, identifying coaching opportunities and building capability across the broader analytics community
Champion best practices in data modeling, documentation, and asset reusability
Qualifications
You have 3+ years of relevant experience
University degree (business / engineering / computer science) or a related field
Proven experience in dimensional data modeling, data architecture, or a similar role
Proven ability to solve problems using data‑driven insights
Proficient in querying data with SQL
Proficient in designing and implementing reporting solutions in various business intelligence tools (Power BI preferred)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a teamPassion for learning and continuous improvement
Experience in the Transportation Industry is considered an asset
Microsoft Certified : Power BI Data Analyst Associate (or equivalent certification) is considered an asset
