HR Generalist

We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Generalist to join our team in North York, Ontario. This role is integral to supporting various human resources functions, including employee relations, workplace investigations, recruitment, and training initiatives. The successful candidate will help ensure compliance with employment legislation and foster a positive work environment within a unionized setting.Responsibilities:- Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on HR policies, performance management, and employee relations.- Conduct workplace investigations and manage accommodation processes in compliance with legislation and collective agreements.- Oversee full-cycle recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.- Facilitate employee training and development programs to align with organizational goals.- Track employee leaves and coordinate return-to-work and modified work arrangements.- Collaborate with supervisors to support effective HR service delivery and employee engagement activities.- Maintain accurate HR records and generate reports to ensure compliance and organizational efficiency.- Assist with the implementation of HR policies, programs, and initiatives.- Serve as backup for payroll processing and administration when required.- Participate in special HR projects and contribute to organizational development initiatives.- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a unionized environment.- Strong knowledge of Ontario employment laws, human rights legislation, and health and safety standards.- Proven ability to handle employee relations and workplace investigations with professionalism and discretion.- Experience in recruitment, training coordination, and interpreting collective agreements.- Proficiency in HR systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian Dayforce, or similar platforms.- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
