Overview
Principal Air Vehicle System Test Conductor (Various Int'l Locations) - R10207493-41 at Northrop Grumman. This role involves serving as the embedded system subject matter expert with the US Navy unit, providing training on system hardware and software, and supporting sailors in system operations, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance. Deployment may occur internationally after a 6+ month domestic training period (Pax River, MD and Rancho Bernardo, CA) with potential assignments in Japan, Italy, United Arab Emirates, or Guam for a minimum of 24 months. If no international / deployed location is available, relocation to a core U.S. location may be required. The position requires travel (up to 100%), active clearance or ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance with potential to obtain Top-Secret / SCI clearance, and the possibility of Special Program Access (PAR).
Responsibilities
- Interfacing with Northrop Grumman and customer Flight Engineers, aircraft maintenance Technicians, US Navy service members, and Subsystem SMEs to sustain operations.
- Acting as the primary interface between maintenance, design, and flight test engineering.
- Vehicle and Payload Test Controller (VTC / PTC) operations during aircraft start-up / shut down for launch and recovery, conducting static ground tests, and troubleshooting.
Essential Functions
Provide inputs to update Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMS).Review / provide inputs during engineering development and execute Detailed Test Requirements, Acceptance Test Procedures, and Ground Test Plans.Install, operate, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and modify equipment in accordance with IETMS and other engineering directives (TDs / ECRs / TEIs / AMRs / MAFs).Perform a variety of organizational / depot-level maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and / or field locations.Develop general knowledge of all aircraft systems, VTC / PTC, engineering design and software; perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of air vehicle systems at the customer location (flightline or hangar).Interpret and trace electrical and air vehicle schematics and perform electrical and RF troubleshooting using appropriate equipment (e.g., Multimeter, Network / Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, TDR).Review and analyze engineering schematics and supplier design data; support functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration on the Air Vehicle.Basic Qualifications
9 years of related professional / military experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience.Willingness to complete required training in Pax River, MD and Rancho Bernardo, CA.Willingness and ability to support an international assignment in Japan, Italy, United Arab Emirates, or Guam for 24 months; location determined by business needs.Willingness and ability to relocate to a core U.S. location if necessary.Ability to pass a new hire physical if required by the company, based on location.DoD Secret clearance in-scope or currently enrolled in CE, with ability to obtain Top-Secret / SCI clearance within a reasonable time.Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable time.Experience with Aircraft Ground Test Operations.Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to communicate with leadership at various levels.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including briefing test results to senior leadership.Preferred Qualifications
Ability to support a new or extended assignment at an international or Guam location after the initial 24-month assignment.Active DoD Top Secret clearance that is in-scope or enrolled in CE.Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle system test or maintenance experience (MQ-4 Vehicle Test Controller or Triton BETTIE operator experience preferred).Aircraft test or lab test experience; experience with testing and troubleshooting aircraft systems.Experience loading data and configuration files to aircraft assemblies.Compensation and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range : $91,200.00 - $136,800.00. The salary range is a general guideline; base offers consider scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Additional benefits may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, holidays, and PTO.
