Site Description : The Georgetown Hospital is a community hospital located in the Georgetown area of Halton Hills, Ontario. It is part of the Halton Healthcare Services group of hospitals. Built on 17 acres of land, it opened in 1961 to serve the Halton Region, but today it also serves the communities of Peel Region.

Position : Full-Time Security Guard

Site : Georgetown Hospital, 1 Princess Anne Dr, Georgetown, ON L7G 2B8

Hours : Continental 12-hour Rotation (0700-1900 / 1900-0700)

Payrate : $19.63 / hour - $22.09 / hour "based on levelling system"

Overtime Eligibility : Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Key responsibilities :

• Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
• Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
• Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
• Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.
• Greeting and assisting visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
• De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
• Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
• Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
• Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed.
• Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards

Please be aware : The UOF / MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position / availability
