We are seeking a Sr. Java Developer for Risk IT to design, develop, and support high-performance, scalable applications within a hybrid work model based in Toronto. This role requires deep Java expertise, strong understanding of microservices, messaging platforms, and batch processing, with a focus on building risk management applications. You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and integrating strategic changes into legacy environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver scalable and high-performance Java applications from concept to production.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to understand functional use cases and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and implement microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
• Develop and maintain batch processes and real-time data pipelines using Kafka, JMS, or MQ.
• Work with databases using PL / SQL and optimize SQL queries for performance.
• Contribute to DevOps CI / CD pipeline (Helios) for smooth code integration and deployment.
• Support and integrate enhancements into legacy applications developed in C++ / .NET.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with appropriate unit and automation testing.
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues; deliver fixes and improvements independently.
• Work closely with the engineering team to ensure smooth transitions and modular deliveries.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $34.88 / hour - $54.50 / hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
