Overview

Located in Guelph, the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) processes applications for admission to undergraduate, law, medical, rehabilitation sciences and teacher education programs for Ontario’s universities. Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise activities of staff including accounts payable, payroll, payments, accounts receivable, and cash flow.
  • Assist with the budget process.
  • Coordinate and assist with the preparation of documents and analysis for year-end audit.
  • Provide mentoring and training for team members.
  • Manage team members’ tasks and work progress.
  • Maintain compliance with various legal requirements.

Qualifications Sought

  • Must possess an accounting designation (CPA) and;
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive work experience in an accounting function.
  • Abilities / Skills for the Ideal Candidate

  • Ability to absorb and retain large amounts of information.
  • Effective listening and speaking skills; diplomacy, tact, patience and professionalism.
  • Ability to explain complex processes and procedures in a clear, concise and consistent manner.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced communications skills to be able to prepare and present financial models and reports to management and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario university system.
  • Hours of Work

  • Monday through Friday, 4.5 days per week (32 hours).
  • Hybrid remote work arrangements may be available after the probationary period.
