Location : Mountview Centre, 59 Karen Crescent, Hamilton, ONL9C 5M5
Total Weekly Hours : 33.75 hours per week
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 6 : 45am - 9 : 00am and 3 : 00pm - 6 : 00pm
Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants) : $28.92 per hour

Who We’re Looking For
Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in early childhood program planning and implementation is preferred but not requiredExperience working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolersKnowledge of the Child Care and Early Years ActEducation
Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) is required for this positionCertifications
Good standing and active registration with the College of ECEStandard First Aid with CPR Level CSatisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police CheckProof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR)Valid Food Handler’s certificationSkills and Attributes
Strong leadership and mentoring skillsIn-depth understanding of How Does Learning Happen frameworkProficient in behavioral guidance techniques for young childrenExcellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environmentCommitment to diversity, equality, and inclusionKey Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate experiences to foster children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional developmentSupervise children in your care to ensure their safety and well-beingOrganize indoor and outdoor play spaces, creating a warm and welcoming environmentConduct daily health and wellness checks for each child, documenting observations and reporting concerns to the SupervisorBuild and maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board facultyProvide age-appropriate developmental activities that support children’s overall growth and learningCommitment to Accessibility
