Senior Analyst - Business Intelligence

Reporting to the BI Product Manager, the Senior Analyst is responsible for designing and creating end-to-end reporting and analysis, ensuring the accuracy of data in the reports distributed to clients.

The Senior Analyst will be responsible for meeting with clients, assessing and documenting the business needs, and converting them into a needs analysis, which will be used for building reports.

The Senior Analyst will be working with Power Bi in the development of the reports, along with other systems and programming languages for advanced analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Produce reports to senior leadership, and internal customers as needed
• Translate strategic initiatives into meaningful and measurable metrics for the team
• Experience communicating data-driven insights to senior management
• Identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Create or support business case initiatives, providing sound insight, costs, ROI, and recommendations
• Critically evaluate business needs, and drive decision-making through strong analytical, leadership, and conflict management skills
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and special projects as needed including but not limited to research projects
• Data mine, document, test and debug reporting and analysis using standard tools including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, SQL, SSRS, Identify, Power BI document, ideate and analyze business outcomes and be able to respond to all data inquiries and questions as they pertain to business outcomes by navigating through multiple data systems
• Understand the business functions and needs for information
• Generate various monthly, and quarterly, analyses and reporting
• Possess strong skills in understanding, manipulating, and analyzing data, and facilitating data-driven decision
• Drive interactive business intelligence and reports that encourage business literacy, curiosity, and meaningful optimizations
• Possess strong spreadsheet skillset: Advanced Excel proficiency is a requirement
• Prepares and provides required reports and/or graphs for tracking, trending, and other reporting requirements

Business Analysis:

• Elicit business requirements for new products, programs, and processes using business analysis elicitation techniques such as requirements workshops, business process analysis, use case creation, data analysis, etc.
• Critically evaluate business needs, and drive decision-making through strong analytical, leadership, and conflict management skills
• Liaise with, multiple business units, technology teams, and support teams to identify requirements, best practices, interdependencies, and opportunities for improvements and technical solutions
• Convert data into tangible information and business reports for stakeholders. Identifying trends, risks, cost, and revenue drivers to facilitate decision making
• Create or support business case initiatives, providing sound insight, costs, ROI, and recommendations
• Anticipate business or project issues. Make recommendations to mitigate risk
• Identify opportunities for organizational process or program improvements
• Provide the organization with solutions that are practical as well as visionary
• Successfully and efficiently engage in multiple business analysis initiatives simultaneously
• Work independently with users to define concepts or under the direction of project managers
• Act as project resource/stakeholder as assigned

Skills & Experience Required:

• 5-10 years of experience working within a Senior Analyst, or similar role
• University Degree in Mathematics/ Statistics
• Robust SQL, Dax, and Python skills
• Experience in statistical models and advanced analysis
• Experience in Machine Learning and Predictive modeling is preferred
• Highly skilled at writing SQL queries with large-scale, complex datasets
• Experience in data visualization and data storytelling
• Experience designing, debugging, and deploying software in VSTS (Azure Dev/Ops) development environment
• Experience with Microsoft BI stack - Power BI and SQL Server Analysis Services
• Strong problem-solving and metadata skills
• Teamwork and commitment to reaching the goals of the project and Husky
• Ownership, accountability, and speed of execution
• Knowledge of analytics tool architectures, functions, and features
