Description de posteManage employee performance, discipline, and coaching Conduct performance reviews and support employee development Allocate resources effectively to meet production and quality targets Mentor and train new and existing employees on machinery, processes, and best practices Oversee quality control processes and be responsible for non-conformance disposition Identify root causes and implement corrective actions Maintain high standards that align with the company’s reputation for excellence Manage inventory movement and accuracy Support purchasing activities as required Champion health and safety, PPE compliance, and ongoing training Schedule and manage annual inspections and certifications (forklifts, cranes, fire extinguishers, etc.) Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment Identify special tooling requirements for jobs and lead in-house tool design in collaboration with the team Support maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance Provide input on process improvements and equipment utilization Support customer communication when required, particularly around job requirements, timelines, or technical considerations 8–10+ years of hands-on metal fabrication experience Supervisory and / or management experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment Strong CAD design skills (SolidWorks and AutoCAD) Solid understanding of machining processes Knowledge of metallurgy (alloys, hardness, material selection, etc.) Welding knowledge and / or practical experience Engineering or design-related education is strongly preferred Experience working with ERP systems Strong understanding of fabrication machinery and shop equipment Detail-oriented and quality-driven A practical, solutions-focused problem solver Confident leading people while remaining approachable and fair Strong in written and verbal communication Comfortable balancing hands-on work with leadership responsibilities Proud of running a clean, organized, and efficient shop Motivated by ownership, trust, and long-term impact — not micromanagement Stable, profitable business with a strong reputation Modern equipment and a well-invested shop Owner-led company with a long-term vision Opportunity to truly own the floor and influence how the shop operates Competitive compensation for the market ($75K–$85K) A chance to help shape the future of a growing, family-driven business
Production & Fabrication Supervisor
Salary : $75,000 – $85,000
Location : Scarborough, ON
Facility Size : 17,000 sq. ft. | Modern, best-in-class equipment

This is a well-established, privately owned metal fabrication business that has been operating successfully for over 15 years . From its 17,000 sq. ft. Scarborough facility , the company produces high-quality, precision components for a variety of industries using modern equipment, including a new laser cutter, advanced bending equipment, and complementary fabrication machinery .

This role is critical to enabling the owner to focus on strategic growth while continuing to build a strong foundation for the next generation of leadership within the company.

The Opportunity
The Production & Fabrication Supervisor will be the operational leader on the floor, overseeing production employees while ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and accountability. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with people leadership , process coordination, and continuous improvement.
You will act as the link between operations planning and daily execution — making sure jobs flow smoothly, teams are supported, and standards are upheld.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership & Scheduling
- Provide floor leadership with a dotted-line responsibility to all production employees
- Take the weekly production schedule from the Operations Manager and facilitate daily scheduling, job flow, and production meetings
- Lead job orientation, workflow planning, and sequencing to meet delivery commitments
