Key Responsibilities : Work with project team to ensure on-time project completion. Design and assist in the preparation of fire protection drawings and schematics, adhering to NFPA standards and building codes. Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components and perform hydraulic calculations. Coordinate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness. Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts. Apply applicable Building code and NFPA standards to the design and classify the hazard and construction type. Perform site investigation to verify the existing site condition, if required. Perform system hydraulic calculations. Calculate material and equipment requirements and setting up shop drawings using AutoCAD. Review architectural and structural drawings. Perform general duties as required such as printing, plotting, scanning, conversion, quantity take-offs and measurement. Qualifications and Requirements : Post-secondary Diploma or Certificate in Fire Protection or a related field. 3+ years of work experience in fire protection design. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and other software programs as required. Experience with ESFR & High-piled Storage Application is an asset. Working knowledge of the Building Code and NFPA standards. Knowledge of HydraCALC and applicable codes. Ability to meet deadlines / successful completion of deliverables. Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Experience using Revit. Valid Ontario Driver's License.
