Nursing Attendant (Operating Room)

Position Overview

The Nursing Attendant (Operating Room) works as a member of the surgical team, contributing to effective patient‑ and family‑centred care experiences. The attendant assists with unit‑specific interventions and collaborates with the surgical team to deliver safe, effective patient care with minimized risk.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient transport from bed to stretcher or wheelchair.
• Applies corrective safety measures for positioning patients in the OR.
• Supports surgical team members with unit‑specific tasks to maintain a safe environment.
• Maintains a positive interpersonal and communication tone with patients, families, and staff.
• Works independently with minimal supervision and contributes as a team member.
• Prioritises workload and manages time effectively.
• Maintains a reliable record of attendance and work performance.

Qualifications

Strong initiative, discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
