The successful candidate will provide comprehensive radiation therapy services, including initial consultation, treatment planning, delivery, and follow-up, within a multidisciplinary cancer care environment.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced linear accelerators, image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), and stereotactic systems. You will collaborate closely with medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and oncology specialists to deliver precise, patient-centered cancer care that meets the highest standards of clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough consultations and clinical evaluations for patients requiring radiation therapy.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicists and dosimetrists using advanced imaging and planning technologies.
  • Approve and oversee radiation dose calculations, beam configurations, and patient setups.
  • Supervise the delivery of radiation therapy to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with established protocols.
  • Manage patient care throughout treatment, addressing side effects, complications, and ongoing support needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, case conferences, and collaborative care planning.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation within electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Contribute to ongoing quality assurance (QA) and quality improvement (QI) initiatives in the radiation medicine department.
  • Engage in clinical teaching and mentorship of residents, fellows, and medical students as applicable.
  • Participate in oncology-related research or clinical trials (optional).

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent from a recognized medical institution.
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) in Radiation Oncology.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
  • Demonstrated expertise in radiation therapy planning, delivery, and oncology patient care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Experience with treatment planning systems (Eclipse, Pinnacle, RayStation) and EMR platforms (ARIA, MOSAIQ, or EPIC) is an asset.
  • Ongoing commitment to continuing education, research, and clinical innovation.
