Position Details
The Medical Imaging transfer of service to Fraser Health is completed and the Medical Imaging Teams are part of Fraser Health. We currently have an opportunity for a casual Radiological Technologist at Langley Memorial Hospital.

Responsibilities
- Performs general duty radiographic / fluoroscopic procedures in accordance with established standards, procedures, radiation protection practices and protocols, working with radiologists, physicians and other health care professionals.
- Operates radiographic and computerized imaging equipment, completes procedures, labels records, and updates RIS / PACS; checks image quality and refers problems to the supervisor; stores digital images appropriately.
- Explains procedures to patients, provides instructions, and answers questions as needed.
- Collects relevant clinical data, documents patient care history and updates databases accordingly.
- Prepares contrast agents and trays for examinations, disposes of items per hospital policy, and cleans instruments for reprocessing.
- Monitors patient care and safety, adhering to department standards and policies.
- Contributes to quality improvement and risk management processes.
- Tests and maintains imaging equipment, performs quality control, and coordinates repairs as needed; maintains a clean technical area and supplies.
- Performs related clerical duties such as patient demographics and data entry.
- Participates in staff / student orientations, in-service presentations, and departmental knowledge sharing.
- Participates in approved research or special projects in collaboration with the supervisor and other health care professionals.
- Contributes to Continuous Quality Improvement / LEAN programs and supports patient / physician satisfaction and booking protocols.
- Adheres to health and safety requirements and promptly reports unsafe situations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
Certification with the CAMRT.
Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment.Ability to perform radiographic examinations in line with departmental standards.Knowledge of evidence-based practice related to designated modality.Familiarity with organizational policies, procedures and standards of care, including safe work procedures with modality equipment.Understanding of the research process and methodology.Knowledge of PACS / Radiology Information Systems, digital imaging, archiving and retrieval.Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to engage with clients, families, colleagues, physicians and external agencies.Ability to operate related equipment and work independently or in collaboration with others.Experience in prioritizing workload and CPR techniques.Computer proficiency and ability to use computerized client care information systems.Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.About Fraser Health
