OVERVIEW
To maintain the efficient operation of all packaging machinery. This position is a 12 hours rotation shift (continental) in which you will report to Packaging Maintenance Supervisor. 442 or 309A Ontario electrical license required.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strong experience with high‑speed packaging equipment, automation systems, and related trouble shooting.
- Support and optimize high‑speed packaging machinery, including sensors, drives, control circuits, and automation components.
- Diagnose and repair Allen‑Bradley PLCs (RSLogix / Studio 5000), VFDs, MCCs, and control panels.
- Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems operating at 110V and 575V.
- Report any equipment deficiencies immediately to Maintenance Supervisor
- Involvement in the company Continuous Improvement program
- Work in accordance to the Redpath Health and Safety program
- Contribute to a positive workplace environment
- Work closely with Production Supervisor to prioritize jobs and minimize production downtime
- Consider the long term sustainability of all activities and endeavour to reduce, reuse and recycle resources in line with ASR policy.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of workplace health and safety matters relevant to your work.
- Exhibit positive collegial behaviours
- Maintain packaging area upkeep and cleanliness to the highest industry standard
- Perform packaging machine changeovers when required
- Completion of scheduled PM work and closing of work orders
- Able to troubleshoot in a fast pace environment
- Mechanical and electrical experience
- Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize according to business needs
- Good communication skills, written and verbal, complete shift reports with accurate information
WORK EXPERIENCES
Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in manufacturing environment.High speed packaging equipment specialization and experience is a requirementKnowledge of SAP would be an assetAdvanced knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC’s RS Logix Studio 5000Knowledge of electrical circuits and power supplies, gearboxes, motors, pneumatics.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
