Description
As a Field Engineer, you will provide pre‑deployment, execution, and closeout support for Field Services projects. In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Field Engineering Supervisor / Manager and be assigned to Project and Site Managers depending on the project. You will collaborate closely with multiple workgroups to address technically complex issues within tight schedules and may serve as the Field Engineering Lead on larger projects. This position also involves regular interaction with customers and regulators to ensure effective communication and project success. This role involves extensive travel (up to 80 %) and may include shift work and extended hours to support field projects.
Pre‑Deployment
You’ll support project planning and readiness by reviewing scopes of work, applicable CSA and ASME standards, and technical requirements. You’ll develop and review work packages, procedures, and tooling designs to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with quality and safety standards. You’ll collaborate with engineers, technicians, and trades to align on expectations, deliver technical training, and lead readiness and lessons‑learned reviews.
Execution
Once on site, you’ll serve as the primary technical contact, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with approved procedures and standards. You’ll oversee field execution by monitoring work quality, resolving technical issues, and enforcing adherence to safety and quality protocols. You’ll provide direction to trades and technicians, coordinate with stakeholders to address issues, and communicate daily progress updates and upcoming priorities to project management, customers, and regulators.
Closeout
At project completion, you’ll verify that all technical and quality documentation is complete and accurate, ensure required approvals are obtained, and capture operational experience and lessons learned for future improvement. You may also prepare technical reports summarizing project execution and outcomes.
