Senior Data Mining & Analytics Developer

Apex Systems is a Global IT Services Firm, and our Staffing practice is looking for a Sr Data Mining & Analytics Developer to place at our client, a Big Five Bank. You will be joining a highly collaborative, fast paced and high performing team.

Client :  Big Five Bank

Length of Contract :  9 months, with possibility to extend

Working Location :  Hybrid, 2 day a week, downtown Toronto.

Pay Rate : $40-$50 / HR (T4 employee)

Job Description

The Business Data Mining & Requirements Analyst is responsible for extracting, curating, and linking data from multiple sources to meet business requirements across Personal and Business Banking. This role involves end-to-end accountability, starting with gathering and understanding business requirements, mining raw data, and mapping it to deliver actionable insights. The individual will ensure data integrity and accuracy while supporting regulatory and business initiatives.

Unlike traditional reporting roles, this position emphasizes data sourcing, requirement mapping, and data curation, rather than working with pre-aggregated datasets. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Data Mining & Requirement Gathering

• Mine and extract data from multiple sources (structured and unstructured) to meet business requirements.
• Curate and link datasets based on defined business rules and objectives.
• Gather and document business requirements, ensuring clarity and completeness.
• Map data elements to business processes and KPIs for accurate reporting and analysis.
• Perform data validation and quality checks to maintain integrity across all deliverables.
