Description
The Fitness Technician III at Millennium Place is responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operations at the facilitys wellness centre. This position will collaborate with the Fitness Technician IV to provide guests an excellent experience. They will demonstrate strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills while using their wellness centre knowledge to create exceptional experiences for guests team members and RPC workgroups.
Key Responsibilities :
- Together with the Fit Tech IV ensures the successful operation of the Millennium Place Wellness Center
- Serves as the primary coordinator for equipment maintenance tracking and maintenance
- Manages the implementation of Strathcona County personal training services
- Assists in supervising mentoring and training Fitness Technician Is and IIs
- Helps Fitness Technician IV in delivering hourly staff training and development as well as oversees ongoing performance
- Actively engages guests provides excellent customer service and proactively addresses concerns and feedback
- Promotes health and wellness through community partnerships and maintains excellent public relations to promote guest retention and a positive image for RPC
- Seeks out new fitness initiatives and helps to implement innovative ideas and projects
- As a member of the larger Millennium Place Full-Time team the Fitness Technician III supports other facility work areas as needed
Qualifications and Skills :
Exceptional communication and interpersonal communication skills both verbally and writtenStrong supervisory abilities including demonstrated leadership skills to motivate develop high-performing teams and foster a sense of teamworkExcellent fitness equipment usage knowledge and extensive exercise prescription knowledgeExtensive market knowledge in exercise equipment brands quality service providers and vendorsFlexibility to adapt to changing priorities manage and balance a variety of interests and objectivesDegree in a related field with minimum of 2 years fitness experience or Diploma in a related field with a minimum of 4 years fitness experience is requiredMinimum of two years recreation related supervisory / leadership experience preferredPossessing a current CSEP-CPT or CEP designation or actively working toward obtaining one (or equivalent) is considered an assetExperience with Microsoft 365 Oracle and Asset Planner considered an assetConditions of Employment :
Submission of a Satisfactory Criminal Record CheckCPR (Level C) AED and Standard First Aid requiredValid Alberta Class 5 Drivers licence and submission of a 5-year Drivers Abstract with less than 7 demeritsAbility to perform physically demanding labour as required including lifting bending twisting etc.Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday with an evening requirement and holidays as required.Who We Are :
