Job Summary
The Team
The Prince George Rural and Remote Team is a small, established team dedicated to supporting children and families of the Kwadacha (Fort Ware), Tsay Keh Dene, and Lheidli T'enneh Bands, as well as those from here who have relocated to Prince George. Known for providing creative and innovative grassroots social work practice in complex and dynamic circumstances, this team collaborates closely with local Indigenous communities, internal Ministry teams, and partner agencies through a community-centered approach to ensure children grow up in safe, nurturing environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with and learn from Indigenous people while making a meaningful impact on children's well-being.
The Role
The Child Protection Worker, Rural and Remote Team assesses and responds to concerns of child abuse and neglect, working closely with children, youth, families, and local agencies to develop safety plans and ensure well-being. Your work will strengthen families and communities, helping them build the capacity to protect and nurture their children. This is a meaningful opportunity for those who are passionate about working in rural locations, valuing the deep connections with culture and community while practicing from a strengths-based and relationship-centered approach.

About this Position :
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
