Company : South Okanagan Deck & Rail Ltd. o / a South Okanagan Deck Railing & GlassBusiness Information : South Okanagan Deck & Railing Ltd. is an exterior renovations company that specializes in custom installations of siding, residential & commercial windows, soffits and eves trough, vinyl and traditional decking and railings.Business Location : 310 Co-op Ave, Oliver, BC, V0H 1T0Work Location : Various locations across the Thompson-Okanagan RegionType of Employment : Full time - PermanentEstimated Start Date : As soon as possibleJob Description : We are looking to hire exterior installers of siding, residential, and commercial windows, soffits and eves trough, vinyl, decks and rails to join our team.Determine layout and installation proceduresMeasure and mark guidelines to be used for installationsLoad and unload trucks with supplies and equipmentUtilize hand and power toolsRead and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specificationsErect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platformsInstall, repair, and service interior or exterior prefabricated productsProfessionalism in customer serviceAttach house wrap or other material to building surface using staples, nails or adhesives.Attach wood or metal laths to surface using a screw gun, nail gun or hammer.Fit and fasten siding material to laths or framing studs using a measuring device (tape measure, transit or laser level), hammer or nail gun, or adhesives.Cut and trim material to size and shape to fit using shears (powered or hand-operated), saw (powered or hand-operated) or utility knife.Fill joints and crack with caulking compound using a caulk gun, putty knife.Achieve the goals and objectives stipulated in performance appraisals.Observe the company's safety practices and procedures at all times, without exception.Requirements : -Education : Some secondary school is required-Experience : A minimum of 1 year of related installing experience is required.Experience with installation of vinyl decking products is a strong asset as this will be the area of most work.Familiarity with all power tools specifically a chop saw and table saw and hand drills, etc. is required-Having a Driver’s license is a strong asset-Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities : Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Standing for extended periods of time, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Tight deadlines, Bending, crouching, and kneeling. Good physical health, with good vision and spatial awareness is required. Good balance and safety awareness is required.-Personal suitability : Punctuality, Reliability, Dependability, Effective interpersonal skills, Organized, Excellent oral and written communication, Team player, Flexibility, client focus-Worksite environment : Fast-paced environment, Outdoors, Dusty, Cold / refrigerated, Hot, Dangerous, At heights-Weight handling : More than 45kg (100 lbs.)Salary : $26.92 hourly, 30 - 60 hours per week.Benefits : Disability insurance, dental insurance, extended medical insurance. Transportation among work locations is provided, as well as, travel expenses paid by the employer if workers need to relocate.Important Information : Regular Work schedule : Monday to Friday, from 7 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pm (It includes 30 minutes for paid lunchtime and 2 healthy breaks of 15 minutes each which are also paid). Shifts may vary according to the business needs, therefore, flexibility in schedule is required. Weekend work and overtime may be required.
