Web application developer Offres d'emploi - Toronto, ON

About Presto Phoenix, Inc.

Presto is the leading Voice AI company for restaurant drive-thrus, operating at scale in complex, noisy, customer-facing environments. As the AI partner to more than a dozen of the most iconic American restaurant brands, Presto is building one of the most impactful real-world applications of AI that directly impacts revenue, labor efficiency, and a magical guest experience for millions of people.

AI is not a feature at Presto; it is the foundation of how we build, evaluate, and evolve our products. We operate at lightning-speed iteration cycles and are solving some of the hardest problems in Voice AI. We are backed by Remus Capital, were a Y Combinator company, and are headquartered in Silicon Valley.

This may not be the right fit for you if you are looking for a traditional 9-to-5 environment. We move at the pace of AI. Change is constant, and roadmaps evolve quickly. Presto is for builders, experimenters, and problem-solvers who thrive in ambiguity, learn continuously, and are excited to shape the future of real-world AI alongside a high-performance team.

The Role

We are looking for a Web Developer to help build the interfaces and web experiences that power Presto's Voice AI platform, from internal operator dashboards to customer-facing configuration tools. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will write production React code that real restaurant operators and internal teams rely on every day.

You will work closely with backend, AI, and product teams to translate business requirements into clean, responsive, and reliable user interfaces. You are someone who cares about code quality, is comfortable moving quickly, and wants to grow your skills across the full front-end stack in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Success in this role requires strong fundamentals in modern web development, an ownership mindset, and the ability to move quickly from design to production.

What You'll Do

Build and maintain production web applications

• Design, develop, test, and maintain responsive front-end applications using React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Build reusable, efficient React components and maintain clean state management practices.
• Work across the full front-end lifecycle, from prototyping through production deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate REST and GraphQL APIs into front end applications.

Apply strong engineering fundamentals

• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in peer code reviews.
• Apply disciplined coding practices, version control, and testing standards to support fast, reliable releases.
• Debug issues across the stack and boost the overall efficiency and reliability of the software.
• Contribute to system design discussions and help define front end architecture and best practices.

Work with modern tooling and APIs

• Build against GraphQL and REST API layers, working closely with backend teams on contract design.
• Use Node.js for tooling, light backend services, and build processes as needed.
• Stay current on front end tooling, frameworks, and techniques, and bring improvements back to the team.

Collaborate across teams

• Work closely with product, design, AI, and backend teams to deliver new features end-to-end.
• Translate business and operator needs into practical, scalable front-end solutions.
• Communicate technical tradeoffs and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Solid hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as core front end languages.
• Hands-on experience building applications with React.
• Experience with Node.js for tooling, services, or full-stack work.
• Experience integrating front end applications with GraphQL and REST API layers.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals: data structures, debugging, and testing.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments with a high degree of ownership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working asynchronously across time zones.
• Experience with responsive, mobile-first design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience with accessibility standards and testing (e.g., WCAG 2.1).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Experience working on real-time or data-heavy dashboards and interfaces.
• Prior experience at a high-growth startup or AI-native company.
