Megtay Solutionsis a fast-growing, safety-focused transportation company committed to excellence in service, compliance, and driver care. We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety and Compliance Officer to join our team and ensure our operations exceed safety regulations and industry standards.
Position Overview :
The Safety and Compliance Officer will oversee all aspects of fleet safety and regulatory compliance, including driver training, audits, incident reporting, and adherence to provincial / federal transportation regulations (e.g. NSC, DOT, FMCSA, etc.). This role is essential in fostering a culture of safety and accountability within our organization.
Key Responsibilities :
Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety regulations (e.g. Hours of Service, NSC, CVOR, DOT / FMCSA).
Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver qualification files and vehicle maintenance records.
Conduct internal audits, safety inspections, and compliance reviews.
Investigate accidents / incidents and recommend corrective actions or safety training.
Coordinate drug and alcohol testing programs.
Lead new driver onboarding, safety orientation, and ongoing training programs.
Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and corrective action plans.
Stay current with evolving transportation laws and regulations.
Serve as a point of contact for enforcement agencies and insurance providers.
Promote a safety-first culture among drivers and staff.
Qualifications :
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in safety / compliance in the transportation or logistics industry.
Strong knowledge of federal / provincial transportation regulations (e.g. DOT, NSC, CVSA, CVOR).
Experience conducting audits, training, and incident investigations.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with safety software and reporting systems.
Valid driver’s license (Class 1 / AZ preferred, but not required).
