Located in the heart of the Fraser Valley, the Abbotsford School District has 46 schools that are attended by over 20,000 students in elementary, middle, and secondary schools. As the largest employer in the city, Abbotsford School District has an operating budget of approximately $250 million and employs over 2,500 full and part time teaching and support staff who are committed to helping students succeed.

Reporting to the Superintendent / CEO, the Secretary-Treasurer / CFO is an integral member of a dynamic senior leadership team, responsible for financial, legal, capital, facilities, transportation, IT and business operations. The role also serves as the corporate officer to the Board of Education, attending all meetings of the Board and supporting all aspects of governance. The Secretary-Treasurer / CFO plays a critical role in the development and implementation of the Board's strategic plan.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned public sector financial executive with the ability to align financial planning with educational priorities. Ideally, the individual will have experience supporting best practices around Board governance. The candidate has a proven record of meaningful consultation and shared decision-making, along with exceptional organizational and time management skills. Their leadership is grounded in integrity, expertise and trust, enabling them to influence change effectively. Additionally, they are committed to fostering a positive workplace culture and open to leveraging emerging technologies to enhance organizational effectiveness.
The salary range for this role is between $217,000 to $241,000 plus benefits.
