BoydenBC, CAEstablished to support Canadian forestry workers and their families, the IWA–Forest Industry Pension and LTD Plans (the Plan Office) provide pension and disability benefits and rehabilitation services to members. Both plans are a valuable part of members’ financial security in retirement and beyond. These two plans are administered by the Plan Office. The Plan Office has worked for decades to provide benefits to members when they need them. Independent of participating employers and the United Steelworkers union (USW), the Plan Office administers both plans according to their plan texts and manages investments according to the plans’ investment policies.
The Plan Office :
- Collects contributions,
- Invests the assets of the LTD Trust Fund and Pension Trust Fund,
- Processes benefit payments and administers rehabilitation services, and
- Answers questions and guides members.
Reporting to the Director, IT & Operations, the Manager, IT oversees the Plan Office’s technology operations and implementation of the IT systems, ensuring IT supports the company’s goals and objectives. The position is responsible for maintaining security protocols and ensuring the efficient operations of IT resources. The role manages and directs the IT team and plans, implements and maintains the IT infrastructure and systems. The Plan Office is developing a new three-year technology vision that will help modernize systems and the Manager, IT will have the unique opportunity to help directly shape it.
The ideal candidate brings broad technical IT experience (cyber, applications, web, infrastructure, etc.) in an IT management role in a mid-sized organization with parallels to the Plan Office. Experience that includes benefits, financial services and / or providing member services through portals is ideal. This role will be highly attractive to IT professionals with a strong service orientation who enjoy leading a small team, applying their advanced project management skills, and shaping an IT strategy for the business over the next three to five years.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the position has an expected salary range of $120,000 - $150,000.
