As a Mechanical Team Lead, you’ll ensure that every mechanical scope of work on a project is executed with precision and excellence. Reporting to the Mechanical Northern Operations Manager, you’ll set daily and weekly goals that align with the overall project schedule and plan, complete 1‑week and 6‑week look‑ahead schedules, and lead the Mechanical team on site to meet project targets.
You’ll travel for work to locations throughout BC, the Yukon and occasionally the Northwest Territories. Our crews typically work 21 / 7 rotations, travel in and out of various locations, and work 10‑hour shifts on average. Perks include well‑maintained crew housing, flights to and from site from the nearest airport, a Living Out Allowance, full benefits, and an RRSP program.
Your day‑to‑day includes connecting with the Mechanical Project Manager and Site Superintendent to align on key priorities, ensuring rough ins are done correctly and materials and equipment are properly installed, monitoring QA / QC and addressing quality concerns, and reviewing sub‑trade and supplier invoices for discrepancies to keep the financials in line with expectations.
Is this the right role for you?
Here’s how you’ll know you’ve been successful in the first 6 months :
- Effective Team Management : You’re the Mechanical point person on site ensuring that everything under your scope is built to specifications and is compliant with codes / regulations.
- Safety as Priority : You’ve set the standard for safety with your team. You ensure all measures meet or exceed regulatory requirements and safety is top of mind at all times.
- Testing & Commissioning : You successfully manage requirements for your scope of work and lead the start‑up, commissioning and handover processes for mechanical equipment.
- Team Leadership : You drive your team to work cohesively, aligning efforts toward productivity milestones and maintaining motivation throughout the project’s lifecycle.
- Proactive Problem Solving : When issues arise, you’re known for responding with quick thinking, aligning the team on a solution that works for everyone.
