We are seeking a Senior Contracts Specialist for a long-term contract employment opportunity in the mining industry, based in Vancouver, British Columbia. As a Senior Contracts Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of contracts, maintaining detailed records, and managing any changes to the original supply or service contracts. You will also act as a liaison between project stakeholders and identify potential risks related to contractual obligations.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage large scale contracts, ensuring adherence to agreed terms, conditions, and specifications
- Serve as a central point of communication between project stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and internal teams, addressing any concerns or necessary adjustments.
- Administer and evaluate changes to original supply or service contracts, analyzing their effects on the project's budget and timeline while ensuring formal approval of such modifications.
- Review and validate claims, assist project team members in drafting responses to contractor or supplier claims, offer resolution recommendations, and oversee claim management while maintaining accurate records and logs.
- Identify potential risks related to contractual obligations and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impacts to the budget and schedule
- Maintain detailed records of all contract-related documents, including contract variations, amendments, site instructions, and change orders
- Be accountable for progress payment verification and processing.
- Work closely with project teams to monitor contractor and supplier performance, ensuring compliance with terms, timely progress, and successful delivery of agreed-upon outputs.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the Mining or Construction industry as a Contracts Specialist or similar role.
- Proficient in contract administration, ensuring all terms and conditions are met effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of contract law and its application.
- Demonstrated skills in contract management, ensuring all contracts are properly maintained and executed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, explaining contract terms and conditions clearly.
- Experience in contract compliance, making sure that all contracts adhere to legal requirements and company policies.
- Proficient in developing contract specifications, detailing the scope of work, deliverables, and other key aspects.
- Familiarity with various contracting processes, including negotiation, review, and termination.
- Ability to interpret and implement contract terms effectively, ensuring all parties meet their obligations.
- Strong skills in contract negotiation, able to secure favorable terms for the company.
