Description de poste

Mackenzie Stuart is currently partnered with an innovative semiconductor company seeking a MicroLED Team Lead / Principal Epitaxial Growth Engineer . This pivotal role involves leading the development and optimization of high-speed, ultra-efficient MicroLEDs, focusing on Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) growth for visible-wavelength LEDs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the MOCVD growth of GaN-based and related materials for visible-wavelength LEDs. Optimize epitaxial growth processes to achieve precise control over thickness, doping, and uniformity.
  • Develop LED designs for high-speed response and data communication applications.
  • Collaborate with fabrication and device design teams to align growth parameters with performance requirements.
  • Perform advanced material characterization using tools such as SEM, AFM, XRD, TEM, and SIMS.
  • Resolve growth challenges, including defect mitigation, compositional control, and doping uniformity.
  • Maintain meticulous records of growth processes, characterization results, and performance metrics.

Qualifications :

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in MOCVD growth, preferably for GaN-based LEDs.
  • Proven track record of developing high-quality epitaxial layers for visible-wavelength LEDs.
  • Expertise in MOCVD tool operation, maintenance, and recipe development.
  • Strong knowledge of LED design for high-speed response and micro-device optimization.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.

    • Compensation :

  • Base Salary : $220,000 - $300,000+ CAD, depending on experience.
  • Highly competitive equity grants offered.

    • Location :

  • Ontario, Canada - already based or open to relocate is obligatory.
