What does a CBSA Shift Supervisor in Etobicoke do?
As a CBSA shift supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of security guards, monitoring people who have arrived at the airport who are experiencing immigration complications and cannot officially enter the country and who are deemed to be an risk to others.
In this role you will :
Manage and lead a team of tactical security guards, ensuring they are protecting people and securing the site with compassion and a focus on de-escalation
Plan, direct and ensure the smooth running of operations at the site
Develop and implement procedures and policies for security operations
Ensure the protection of people, assets, and property
Escort people within the facility, using restraints to ensure the safety of everybody.
Demonstrate empathy and compassion and a recognition that you are working with individuals under stress
Observe, monitor, and report on behavior of detainees.
Conduct regular foot patrols - both indoor and outdoor facilities
Utilization of tactical training to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations.
This work requires vigilance, efficiency, but also a talent for customer service and compassion as you will be working with people within a vulnerable situation.
