The Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) team, as part of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), plays a crucial role in supporting the UFV community by planning and executing enterprise-wide technical and business projects. The team ensures that these projects align with the university's strategic objectives and that resources are used efficiently.
The Project Coordinator is integral to the success of the PPM team's mission. The Project Coordinator supports a variety of small initiatives, assists project managers, and works within the department to ensure the successful execution of projects. This role also helps maintain project management standards and best practices, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the PPM team.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized, post-secondary institution.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in project coordination or a similar role.
- Familiarity with project management software tools, Agile / Waterfall methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to multitask, and a passion for technology and project management.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and software development lifecycle.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with a variety of technical staff, including developers, database administrators (DBAs), network specialists, architects, and business analysts (BAs).
- Possess business acumen, preferably in a university setting and strong business stakeholder relationships.
- Experience working in a PMO or IT environment.
