Job Summary
The Team :
The Indigenous Relations team encapsulates a dedicated group that fosters strong, collaborative relationships with First Nation communities to ensure that BCTS's activities align with the principles of reconciliation, respect, and mutual benefit. Engagement and collaboration mixed with a passion of forestry-related matters, this team promotes economic opportunities, ensures legal obligations are met, and supports capacity-building initiatives. The Role :
The Indigenous Relations Coordinator is a rewarding position where excellence is shown by supporting and managing administrative work flows, that allows the team to focus on fostering meaningful relationships with First Nations communities in order to advance shared objectives. This role involves coordinating consultation processes and meetings, researching, preparing vital documents and supporting the development of agreements. The ideal candidate is culturally sensitive, knowledgeable about First Nations' history and rights in Canada, and supportive in communication and negotiation in advancing BCTS's commitment to reconciliation and sustainable forest management. Qualifications :
Education and Experience Requirements
- Diploma related to Indigenous consultation, public administration or a related field and 1 year related experience; OR
- Certificate or coursework in Indigenous consultation, public administration or a related field and 2 years related experience; OR
- Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and 3 years related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
