Position : Public Practice Licensing Manager
Reports To : Director, Public Practice Licensing
Contract Type : Indefinite, Full Time

Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, Public Practice Licensing, the Public Practice Licensing Manager is integral in ensuring that members meet the requirements for licensure, firms are appropriately registered, and corporations are properly permitted. This role will be responsible for the review of new public practice licence applications, firm registrations, and professional accounting corporation permits, and renewal of existing licences, firm registrations, and professional accounting corporation permits.
Key Responsibilities :
Public Practice Licensing
- Act as the primary contact for practitioners interested in providing public practice services that may require licensure, and perform assessment and evaluation of the applications, including any applications for changes in category of licensure.
- Assess, evaluate, and approve firm registrations, including firm structures, such as corporations, LLPs, and extra-provincial firms.
- Ensure that firms meet the minimum professional liability insurance requirements.
- Monitor the mentor program for practitioners’ progress towards completion, with follow ups to ensure transition down to an appropriate category of licence if requirements are not met.
- Work with IT on the deployment of updates related to annual renewals for practitioners, firms, and professional accounting corporations permits.
- Work with the Director to ensure that practitioners licensed in audit or review meet ongoing requirements for licensure (i.e. ongoing clients, professional development).
- Work with the Director to address key issues / risks as they arise.
Departmental Administration and Other Areas
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.

The starting annual salary for this position is between $90,900.00 and 107,900.00 per annum, based on candidates’ qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.
