Raytheon Waterloo is seeking a Principal Specialist, Product Design to be part of the team supporting legacy and Next Generation Airport Traffic Control (ATC) programs. The candidate will work with a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team consisting of product design, systems, software, and manufacturing engineers to develop engineering solutions from conceptualization through prototype development, testing, documentation, and production of mechanical designs and electronic configuration deliverables.

Responsibilities :

• Designs major mechanical components or major portions of functional systems, technically advanced prototypes, and specific products using computer design and engineering systems.
• Generates parts lists and change documentation to support product life cycle maintenance.
• Develops or improves products and facilitates manufacturing operations.
• Develops data and makes parametric models, layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals.
• Define and maintain configuration management through ERP / BOM / Parts Lists to ensure released engineering data quality, including obsolescence of electronic components.
• Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, obsolescence, and contractual specification requirements and cost.
• Adheres to participate in all EHS practices and standards across the site, including but not limited to proactive reporting of observed hazards and recommendations to ensure the safety and well-being of self and others.
