Position Information Position Title Scheduling Officer Posting Type Permanent End Date (if applicable) Classification Title FT Support Staff G Pay Band G Min Salary $33.55 Max Salary $38.88 Position Summary The Scheduling Officer is primarily responsible for the planning, creation, publishing, and ongoing maintenance of the College’s academic timetabling function. The Scheduling Officer is also responsible for administering, coordinating, and handling of both internal as well as external College requests by clients to book any space at the College.
In creating effective academic timetables for the College, the Scheduling Officer must work with very large amounts of data (i.e. raw block / courses for all programs, course / faculty constraints, room / facility data, and special program / course requirements). The Scheduling Officer also works closely with other relevant College stakeholders (Academic Support Officers / Deans / Chairs from the various schools, Registrar’s Office staff, and IT Staff) to plan as well as execute the critical path for the timelines for development of the academic timetables. Doing this work requires extremely close attention to detail, stressful deadlines, and ongoing communication with the academic schools.
The Scheduling Officer’s role in the College is a critical one, as timely as well as accurate academic timetables are very important with overall College operations – including faculty work scheduling, student-centric schedules designed to assist with student success, as well as efficient booking of all College space for all College operations. Business Administration, Computer Studies, or other related field.
