- Build rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to and empathizing with their concerns.
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic / medical / surgical / dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
- Communicate with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
- Maintain client / patient medical / surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up to date through established protocols.
- Stay current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
- Present a positive image of the hospital to the professional community and to the public.
- Provide mentorship to new employees and student externs that helps develop the next generation of veterinarian colleagues.
- Work in a communicative and collaborative fashion that focuses on team success.Skills and Basic Qualifications
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
- Licensure in good standing to practice in Ontario.
- Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
- We are looking for an experienced veterinarian but we welcome new graduates!
- Willing to perform dental procedures and soft tissue surgeries.
