Job Summary
The Team
This is a multi-disciplinary team that is dedicated to improving the well-being of children, youth, and families in the Sooke area. The Roots Practitioner works with Nations, Designates, and community partners to explore the Indigenous child's family and community for the purpose of cultural connections, relationships and permanency.
The Role
Employing excellent collaborative skills, you establish productive working relationships with Nations, community partners and provincial, federal and non-governmental agencies, act as a liaison to develop and facilitate relationships in order to support cultural connections for children and their families and to promote cultural understanding for caregivers and staff. Additionally, you will support the team to facilitate connections with Indigenous communities to support children, youth, families, and collaborative planning. Your work will have a direct impact on ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and families through partnerships with other professionals and communities.
Qualifications :
Education and Experience Requirements
- Diploma or higher in Health / Human Service or related field plus related experience; Or
- Certificate in Health / Human Service or related field plus 2 years related experience.

About this Position :
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
