Travel Requirement : Up to 15 hours per week; all shifts including evenings, nights and weekends
Are you passionate about the intricate world of microorganisms and eager to make a tangible impact on patient care? As a Medical Laboratory Technologist in our state-of-the-art Microbiology Laboratory, you will leverage advanced technologies and leading diagnostic methods to identify and understand pathogens affecting our diverse patient population. This role not only allows you to contribute to high-impact medical decisions but also places you within a collaborative team environment where professional growth and personal satisfaction go hand in hand.
In this role you will :
- Perform laboratory procedures in all areas of microbiology
- Process patient samples and perform laboratory tests for bacteriology, serology and molecular diagnostics
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- Prioritize assigned work
- Prepare accurate reports; participate in educational, safety, and quality improvement programs; observe and follow hospital and departmental policies and procedures
- Conduct quality control checks to verify the accuracy and reliability of test results. Document any anomalies or issues according to protocol
- Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
