Reporting to the Senior Consultant of Return to Work, this position plays a vital role in leading the organization to best in class performance, requiring a significant departure from the status quo. Creative and innovative thinking is required to develop best practices and continuously improve improve our RTW Program. This position may reside close to or in any of the following locations : Richmond or Calgary. Purolator operates on a hybrid work model, this role included.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the RTW Specialist include but are not limited to :
- Acts as the subject matter expert for Purolator's Return to Work (RTW) Program relating to occupational injuries and / or illnesses
- Provides guidance on Workers' Compensation (WCB), disability management, return-to-work and accommodations ensuring operational compliance with legislation and regulations, corporate policies and procedures
- Liaises with various provincial Workers' Compensation Boards along with external stakeholders to provide effective claims management to improve Purolator's return to work outcomes and cost containment efforts
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure the prompt and effective preparation of individual employee return to work plans, monitor progress and resolve RTW obstacles
- Oversees reporting and tracking of all workplace injuries in Purolator's Health and Safety system
- Develops a variety of narrative and statistical reports; evaluate workers' compensation costs, trends, and report on the overall effectiveness of the RTW program
- Shares best practices and recommendations to modify existing operational procedures, reporting, metrics and occupational accommodation and return to work procedures
- Fosters an atmosphere of collaboration and trust among all workplace parties
