This role will be instrumental in driving the strategic medical affairs activities for our orthopaedic products portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a robust scientific background along with a deep understanding of the orthopaedic market and will be responsible for bridging clinical data and market needs to enhance patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and execute the strategic medical affairs plan for orthopaedic products, aligning with corporate objectives and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with research and development teams to inform clinical trial designs and ensure alignment with market access needs.
• Provide scientific expertise including critical analyses of scientific data, performing literature reviews, and developing high-quality, compliant scientific materials to support product launches (e.g. approvals, claims development, product adoption) and lifecycle management.
• Build and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and academic institutions to facilitate research collaborations and clinical education.
• Oversee the generation of substantiated clinical and economic evidence to support market access efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams, including the Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA) team.
• Lead the preparation and presentation of clinical data to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and strategic messaging.
• Where required, develop scientific content for medical education programs and resources for healthcare professionals to promote understanding of product benefits and appropriate use.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging scientific evidence to inform unmet medical needs, strategies and initiatives. Direct Reports : Manage and mentor the Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA) Manager, ensuring effective execution of market access strategies and economic evaluations related to orthopaedic products. Qualifications :
• Advanced degree in a relevant field (PhD, MD, PharmD) preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in medical affairs within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry; specific experience in orthopaedics an asset
• Strong knowledge of clinical research, regulatory requirements, health economics, market access processes, procurement and payer dynamics in Canada.
• Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and projects effectively.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to a diverse audience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable strategies.
• Ability to travel 25% combined domestically and internationally as required for meetings, conferences, and KOL engagements.
