Our Project team are currently seeking a Commissioning Mechanical Lead to join their team. This position will be based in our St. John's office with periodic business trips to Ingleside, TX and transition Offshore Newfoundland for the completion of project scope. As the Commissioning Mechanical Lead, you will support the Mechanical SME with daily work and resource planning including vendor support and coordination of commissioning activities.
What will you be doing?
- Execute and manage Mechanical commissioning personnel and subcontractors in tasks associated with the successful Commissioning of Mechanical systems in accordance with the commissioning strategy and schedule.
- Manage Commissioning craft labour and subcontractors for Mechanical commissioning activities.
- Liaise with Operations to identify and prepare the necessary documentation to support isolations and isolation certificates (ICC’s).
- Prepare necessary permit to work and supporting documentation as per Client’s work management system.
- Responsible for gathering and maintaining commissioning documentation to validate the readiness for operation of critical start-up items including checksheets, PSSR punches, equipment data.
- Focus on and contribute to a strong safety and quality mindset by participating in commissioning risk management processes including HAZOPs, JHA's, and FLRA's.
- Participate in project Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Supervise and mentor field personnel, conduct effective safety meetings, ensure established commissioning processes and policies are communicated and adhered to.
- Liaise with the client discipline and daily interface with commissioning personnel in the other disciplines.
- Input to Offshore Lead for daily reporting requirements including daily timesheets.
- Identification, follow up and resolution of field technical queries.
- Review and sign off on turnover documentation prior to acceptance from construction.
- Field as-building and redlining of documentation.
- Investigate and resolve personnel issues with assistance from others as required.
