We're looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in automation to join our client's team in the Halton region.
The Automation Engineer will design, implement, and fine-tune automated systems to make our production processes more efficient, improve product quality, and keep costs under control. To succeed, you'll need a solid understanding of manufacturing operations, automation technologies, and continuous improvement strategies.

Responsibilities
Design, install, and oversee automated systems, robotics, and equipment in our manufacturing operations. Work closely with different teams to develop automation solutions that meet production targets and maintain quality.
Review current manufacturing processes and spot areas where automation can make a difference. Develop strategies to boost productivity, increase efficiency, and promote safety while minimizing waste and downtime.
Lead automation projects from start to finish, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget. Work with vendors and suppliers to choose and acquire the right equipment.
Identify and resolve issues with automated systems. Create preventive maintenance plans to keep equipment running smoothly and avoid unplanned downtime.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to support ongoing improvement efforts. Monitor and analyze key metrics like production output, quality, and cost savings.
Train manufacturing staff on how to use automated equipment properly. Develop clear documentation, including user guides, standard procedures, and troubleshooting resources.
Ensure all automation systems meet safety standards and industry regulations. Perform risk assessments and create safety protocols to protect our team.
Proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks for designing automated equipment layouts.
Solid understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement tools.
Hands-on experience with robotics, sensors, vision systems, and automation software.
Occasional travel to other company sites or vendor locations may be required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related field).
At least 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, with a focus on automation. Familiarity with robotics, PLC programming, and CNC machines is a strong asset.
Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related process improvement strategies is an asset.
Experience with ERP systems, data analysis tools, and industrial IoT technologies.
Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations for automated systems.
