Description
The role of a warehouse worker is to assist in the efficient and effective reclamation, processing or distribution of warehouse goods.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Is able to work in adherence to The Salvation Army’s Christian Mission and Values
- Awareness and compliance with CHWK Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain BC Food Safe standards and training.
- Maintain in good standing a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- With the supervision of the Food Bank Coordinator, organizing and running of the Food Recovery program and that consists of but not limited to; Picking up product from multiple locationsSorting, washing, recycling, disposal of productMaintenance of totes, coolers, freezers, pallets, pallets jacks, forklift, and all Material Handling equipmentDirecting volunteers in all areas of Food Recovery ProgramRecording, itemizing and documenting through electrical devises for inventoryMoving and storage of all productCleaning totes and loading vehicles for the next day
- Warehousing services, for all three warehouses, including the receiving of all donations / supplies in cooperation with Food Bank Coordinator, organizing / sorting, storage and distribution of product.
- Is knowledgeable with regards to company policies as well as other Regulations such as Provincial & Municipal highway Traffic Acts.
- Promptly reports to the supervisor all accidents involving the vehicles, personal injury and / or other damage.
- Disposes of garbage and is sensitive to recycling.
- Assists with truck driving and pick ups when required.
- Assist Driver in cleaning inside and outside vehicles a minimum of once a week.
- Plans daily routes in cooperation with the Care & Share Centre for pick up and / or delivery of inventory, supplies, recycling and donations; maintain scheduled pick-ups and ensures transport to and from appointments is completed as scheduled. Ensures the safety and security of the vehicles and goods while in his / her care.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Regular / Part Time – Work when needed up to 15 hours per week.
