Description de posteBuild quick prototypes in Figma / React / Replit / Cursor to validate ideas and technical feasibility Run user tests with scientists to gather feedback. Iterate rapidly based on data and user behavior. Understand our backend (Node, Java, Python) and AI stack Align front-end prototypes (React) with the existing API and microservices based architecture. Collaborate on containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) to ensure designs function at scale. Work with computational biologists and wet-lab scientists to capture domain insights. Contribute design inputs to data pipelines (OpenSearch, MongoDB, CosmosDB). Ensure a consistent user experience across web app, data dashboards, and AI agent interfaces. Measure your success with stickiness of the features Mentor junior designers or engineers on best practices in user-centric design. 3+ years designing software that leverages AI or data. Solid track record turning user needs into compelling design solutions. Comfortable in Figma or similar design tools. Some knowledge of React or other front-end frameworks. Ability to tinker with code for rapid prototyping. Ability to gather feedback from scientists and biotech experts. Skilled at translating technical AI workflows into intuitive experiences. Fluent in cross-functional teamwork. Great at presenting design rationale to engineers and product teams. Thrives in an environment of fast feedback and evolving requirements. Organizes tasks effectively to meet agile milestones. Excited to learn the biotech domain and user needs. Experience with lab workflows, genomics data, or scientific software. Familiarity with R&D processes and protocols.

We’re a Y Combinator-backed startup on a mission to turn every lab into an AI power house. Our multi-agent platform integrates AI agents into lab operations. Our main AI agent, Scibot, helps automate experiments, manage data, and deliver insights. We move fast, collaborate often, and push the boundaries of biotech R&D.
We have seen the first generation of agents with a basic understanding of chat interface. I think Gen 2 versions of agents will be hidden in the UX. The agents will recommend, prioritise, and suggest while the user navigates the product. Scispot is looking for a designer who understands how this type of agent will impact the lives of wet lab scientists and computational biologists.
Role Overview
We’re seeking a Senior AI Product Designer to craft user experiences driven by advanced AI.
You’ll work at the intersection of design, engineering, and biotech R&D.
You’ll ensure AI-based features are intuitive, beautiful, and truly helpful to scientists.
We want someone who can prototype in Figma or code and who isn’t afraid to get hands-on.
We believe the future of labs is self driving labs powered by AI agents.
This person will play an instrumental role in crafting user experiences that creates “Aha” moments for scientists.
Key Responsibilities
